Put Hopdio on your phone

This build is handed out by invite while the app is still being shaped. Make an account with the code you were sent — the same account signs you into the app and carries your library between devices.
Installing it
Android asks before it lets a browser install anything, which is the phone doing its job rather than something being wrong. It asks once, and only about this download.
  1. Download the APK using the button beside this. It is about a hundred megabytes, so use Wi-Fi.
  2. Open it from the notification, or from Downloads if you dismissed it.
  3. Allow this source. Android offers a settings screen — turn on "Allow from this source" for your browser and press back. You are only trusting the app that did the download.
  4. Install, then open Hopdio and sign in with the email and password you just made.
  5. Play Protect may warn you that it does not recognise the developer. It says that about every app not from the Play Store. "Install anyway" is the way past it.
What to expect
It is a beta and it says so: developer utilities are switched on, and there is a testing panel in Settings that records what you tap so a bug can be reported with its own trail. Updates arrive over the air — open the app twice and the new version is the one that runs. A new download is only needed when something changes in the native build, and you will be told.
Something wrong? Tell us on the support page — it reaches a person.
Get the build
Android only for now. The iOS build needs a different door — TestFlight — and it is not open yet.
